You can copy and paste bibliographic information while using the Call Number and Item Maintenance wizard. However this is possible only if you retrieve a hitlist display. You can copy and paste from the bibliographic record when that record is still in the description viewer display that appears as the lower part of the hitlist display. That view is shown below.
Select a title off the hitlist and view it's description. If your library uses Dewey classification, highlight the 082 call number (without the subfield 2; its display is the 22 shown above). Click on EDIT (in the upper left corner of the JWF window) and click on Copy.
Click the Modify button at the bottom of the window.
With the Call Number/Item tab open, paste the call number from the bibliographic record into your library's call number datawell. (Click EDIT again and select Paste to add the call number.)
What you can't do from the Call Number/Item Maintenance wizard is copy and paste from a bibliographic record if you retrieve that record directly without first pulling it from a hitlist. Or if you pull it from a hitlist and then click on the Modify button before you try to copy and paste, it is no longer possible to do so. Once the record is in the Modify mode in this wizard, you can't highlight anything in the bibliographic record to copy and paste from it.
Note:
CTRL C also can be used as the Copy function.
CTRL V also can be used as the Paste function.
